Live performance triptych ‘Moura Encantada’, Almendres Cromlech and Barreiro in Portugal, Garkalne in Latvia. 2020. Selected extracted frames.

‘A moura is a mythical being that lives inside a rock according to Portuguese and Galician folklore. It is believed that mouras are shapeshifters - one of the forms they can appear in is a girl dressed in white. They are the liminal goddesses, the ones that are guarding the borders, able to cross the line between this and the otherworld. The performance series is combining the celtic/galician folk stories with the Baltic pagan rituals in order to reflect on the meaning of borders, both imaginary and geographical, merging points of ancient traditions and their rudimental usage nowadays as well as identity and belonging to a place.’
